YAP is an app by Nexi Payments S.p.A, a leading digital payments provider in Italy. To join, you need to be at least 12 years old, have an Italian phone number, a valid tax code, and a valid ID. To pay with your phone, you need to enable NFC, and the merchant needs to have a contactless POS. Alternatively, you can request a physical card (at an additional cost).
YAP offers a free Mastercard prepaid card to pay worldwide, buy online, receive money from friends and family, and exchange money with them. No queues, no forms to sign, just an ID document.
